As we celebrate National Volunteer Week, let’s recognize the invaluable contributions of volunteers to Open Arms Patient Advocacy. They are the driving force behind all our initiatives, and their tireless efforts are instrumental in shaping our organization to meet our mission.

Open Arms’ board is made up entirely of volunteers, each bringing their expertise, skills, and passion to the table. From strategic leadership to volunteering, marketing, IT, outreach, and financial initiatives, our board members work collaboratively to ensure that our organization operates smoothly and effectively.

Our patient advocates, who are also volunteers, work tirelessly to represent patients and support them through their healthcare journeys. They provide emotional support, guidance on filing complaints, help patients navigate the healthcare system, and advocate for policies that improve the lives of patients and their families. But it doesn’t stop there. Volunteers also help us with volunteer coordination, content writing, partnerships, and more. Their contributions are essential to the success of our organization.

Patient advocacy is a critical aspect of healthcare that aims to support and empower patients to make informed decisions about their health. However, the work of patient advocacy is not a one-person job. It takes a village to drive change, and volunteers play a vital role in shaping the patient advocacy movement.

Volunteers bring a diversity of perspectives and experiences to the table. They may be patients themselves, healthcare providers, or simply individuals passionate about making a difference. This diversity helps ensure that patient advocacy efforts are inclusive and responsive to the needs of all patients and their families.

Furthermore, volunteers bring a level of passion and commitment that is unmatched. They are driven by the desire to make a difference, and their dedication is often infectious, inspiring others to get involved and make a positive impact.

So as we celebrate National Volunteer Week, let’s recognize and honor the essential role that volunteers play in patient advocacy. Their dedication, passion, and commitment to supporting and empowering patients are invaluable, and they inspire us all to make a positive impact in our communities. Together, we can create a future where all patients have access to high-quality healthcare and the support they need to thrive.

How can Open Arms Advocacy Help?

We advocate for a wide array of patient issues from emergency room care, senior care, women’s health, mental health, and acute care to medical fatalities. We help patients get a second opinion, find a physician, place a complaint, or access medical documents. Open Arms also helps families of patients with guidance, support, and resources to get the answers they require.
