Why This Evening Matters
In 2025, Open Arms Patient Advocacy had a 45% increase in requests for support from Albertans navigating our healthcare system.
Patients across the province are facing complex diagnoses, long-term care transitions, treatment concerns, and questions about how to navigate a complex system. For nearly two decades, Open Arms has provided free patient advocacy services to ensure every Albertan receives the care they deserve.
Open Arms also serves as a centralized health resource and collaborates with partners such as AHS Patient Relations, the Office of the Alberta Health Advocate, and Covenant Health to ensure patient concerns are heard and addressed appropriately.
All funds raised through this gala will directly support:
- One-on-one patient advocacy services
- Increasing intake capacity to meet growing demands
- Volunteer advocate training
- Outreach to underserved communities
- Reducing wait times to connect with an advocate
This gala reflects our collective commitment to strengthening patient advocacy and ensuring equitable access to healthcare across Alberta.
